“Ayeyarwaddy” A Bride of Our History
upwards from City Yangon
distance is 179 mile
that’s “Thirikhitaya”, my native town
got back in autumn with memorials saved long time
……………………………………
“Thirikhitaya” in the past
it is graceful land..
motherland of “Pu” ethnics..
currently called “Pyay” township
that’s actually old palace of “Pu”
just lay on bank of “Ayeyarwaddy”
very pleasant place
…………………………………..
two blind brothers in legend
met by chance with an ogress called “Sandramuni”
made rafting downwards together along “Ayeyarwaddy”
many cities emerged in history
Sitkine , Saku , Salin , so..so..
then arrived to “Thirikhitaya”
fortune led them to meet a rural virgin more
she ever came to fetch water from “Ayeyarwaddy”
their love story started at a hermit’s monastery
later on…
fabulous love story of King “Douttabaung” and Queen “Biekthanoe”
there were wars…romance…
all the time, “Ayeyarwaddy” watched quietly and smiling
…………………………………………….
with historic late dreams
unforgettable memory of past
our blood flows down on this land
she kept always our mythical things
she is “Ayeyarwaddy”
a bride of our history
…………………………………..
a thing learnt in Geography
“Ayeyarwaddy” possesses 4 defiles
Yes..that’s right
the final and last defile
if look at it from “Thirikhitaya or Pyay”
seems near before “Pyay”
at present time, my worry is ..
4 defiles will be displaced, in what number ?
not cool…ever I feel
……………………………………
our “Ayeyarwaddy”
proud of her virginity ever
nowadays, changed seriously
no longer proud of great existence
it became less water
but with massive sand plains
when I stand on bank and look around
a piece of song of Singer-Khin Wunn flew in wind
xxx “Ayeyarwaddy” xx “Ayeyarwaddy” xx “Ayeyarwaddy”xxx
xxx silent and matured her water surface
xxx neat and tidy her flow
xxx look at her magnificent appearance or her majesty
xxx Of course… she is lord of nature
……………………………………
if it is a glance from Mount “Mingyi”
the beautiful long bridge ” Nawadday” on “Ayeyarwaddy”
not sees as river-crossing bridge
but a bridge crossing on wide sand plain
I just could believe faintly on its reality
………………………………………..
no money gains no impression
not much money results again in few friends
in this real world
like annihilating on everything in sight
greedy people ruined the environment
few water in river
then the nature of river lost
some rivers became creeks
some rivers became brooks
some rivers disappeared
…………………………………….
it is law of nature
born – oldness – illness – death
whoever..when time is matured
however…
some …some have faced oldness – illness – death
but time is not matured yet for them
really! “Ayeyarwaddy” is like that
………………………………………..
from 2011 to coming years in future
if I imagine forwards
“Ayeyarwaddy” in 2015
“Ayeyarwaddy” in 2020
“Ayeyarwaddy” in 2025
“Ayeyarwaddy” in 2030
she will be disappeared ? in which year ?
a series of my unsleeping nights
with a full of anxious thoughts
…………………………………
“Ayeyarwaddy”
a significant river from Myanmar
we owe her gratitude
she served us since many many years ago
gracefully and greatly
she get our stomach satisfied
she get our ways paved
our benefactor “Ayeyarwaddy”
we can’t leave you in history
……………………………………….
this is a snap “Ayeyarwaddy” portrait
drawn by a native but living away from “Pyay”
“Ayeyarwaddy”
starting from a joining point of Maykha and Melikha
ending at Delta
along the river route
there were a thousands of riverside townships and villages
among those townships and villages
from even small villages to large townships
Poems about “Ayeyarwaddy”
already written many
……………………………………….
Deterioration of “Ayeyarwaddy”
( in fact) it was killed
a lot of things to say.. a lot .. a lot
not a story
soul of “Ayeyarwaddy”
nearly to be gone away
Save it!
S..A..V..E it !
