I don’t want him to be surprised again
We have so called an “IT Consultant” at work.
Has one of the key pads in your computer keyboard falled off? Just go to him, he’d say, “Oh..call the service center, here is the phone number”.
The company I am working for has functional groups residing in different floors and apartments of an industrial building. When I used my computer at my work place, I could not open more than two web browsers, if I did, the connection to the server would be lost! When it happened, I called the guy and requested for his help to solve the problem. He just came by, checked my computer, opened one web page, and said, “See? It’s OK”. I opened a few more browsers and the problem occoured. He just said, “Well, that’s normal. Why do you want to open more than two broswers? You should use only one”. Case closed!
These days, I have not been able to use the internet at all in my work place. He came to our place a few times, he looked so stressed, and said, “Hmm..I am very surprised! I did everything I could to make them work, but there sill is the problem,…..” etc.
It went on like this. Finally, I went to a different work place in the same company, where the internet connection is OK, used the internet to browse the info and download some required drivers for my work. One of my colleagues saw it and asked “Hey, why are you sitting here?”. I answered, “Because there has been no internet connection avaiable in my work place”. He wondered, “Why don’t you call …..? He might be able to help you”.
I said, “Well, whenever I requested him to solve the problem, it eneded up with him being surprised with the problem. As I don’t want him to be surprised anymore, I just came up here to use the internet”.
Life is like that.
🙂
